37-year old WR Isaac Bruce was acquired earlier this week from the 49ers for a conditional 7th round pick which the Rams won’t have to give up because he decided to retire as a Ram.  Bruce played in 197 games (180 starts) in his 14 years with the Rams and he caught 942 passes for 14,109 yards (15.0 avg) with 80 TD grabs.  He also carried the ball 23 times for 150 yards (6.5 ypc) in his time with the Rams.  Bruce retires as the Rams’ all time leader in receptions (942), receiving yards (14,109) and TD receptions (80).  Isaac Bruce was one of the very best players in Rams’ history.

The Rams have released 32-year old QB Marc Bulger.  Bulger played in 9 games for the Rams last season and he completed 140 of 247 passes (56.7%) for 1,469 yards with 5 TD passes and 6 INTs (70.7 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 8 times for 22 yards (2.8 ypc) last season.  Bulger finishes his career with the Rams playing in 96 games in which he has completed 1,969 of 3,171 passes (62.1%) for 22,814 yards with 122 TD passes and 93 INTs (84.4 QB Rating).  He also has carried the ball 118 times for 300 yards (2.5 ypc) with 8 TD runs in his time with the Rams.  Everyone knew this was coming so it wasn’t a shock to anyone as the Rams try to rebuild by going in a new direction.  Bulger will have little problem finding a new job.

The St. Louis Rams release DT LaJuan Ramsey

The Rams have released 25-year old DT LaJuan Ramsey.  Ramsey played in 15 games for the Rams last season and he made 16 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, he has 1 sack and he forced 1 fumble.  I’m kind of surprised that the Rams got rid of Ramsey because he made some plays for them last season and it’s not like they are loaded along the D-Line.
