The Rams have lost 36-year old CB Al Harris for the rest of the season due to a torn right ACL.  Harris played in 9 games for the Rams this year and he had 15 tackles, 7 passes defensed and 1 fumble recovery.  This might be the end of the line for Harris, and if it is, he has had a great career.  Harris has played in 194 games in his first 14 years in the NFL and he has 468 tackles, 21 interceptions (3 returned for a TD), 149 passes defensed, 4 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and 5 tackles for a loss.

The St. Louis Rams lose TE Michael Hoomanawanui for the season

The Rams have lost 23-year old TE Michael Hoomanawanui for the rest of the season due to a torn right ACL.  He played in 8 games for the Rams this year and he caught 7 passes for 83 yards (11.9 avg).  He has now played in 16 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has caught 20 passes for 229 yards (11.5 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  This is unlucky for both Hoomanawanui and the Rams as they are going to need someone to step up at TE.

The St. Louis Rams lose Greg Salas for the rest of the season

The St. Louis Rams have lost 23-year old WR Greg Salas for the rest of the season due to a fractured left fibula.  Salas played in six games for the Rams as a rookie this year and he caught 27 passes for 264 yards (9.8 avg).  The Rams are going to give 23-year old rookie Austin Pettis the first shot to replace Salas in the slot.  Pettis has played in six games so far this year and he has caught 11 passes for 90 yards (8.2 avg).  The Rams hope Pettis is up to the challenge as Sam Bradford needs all of the help he can get.

St. Louis Rams starting QB Sam Bradford has a high ankle sprain

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 18 October 2011 at 12:52 pm

23-year old QB Sam Bradford has a high ankle sprain.  He is likely to miss this Sunday’s game against the Cowboys and maybe more.  He has played in all 5 games for the Rams so far this year and he has completed 103 of 195 passes (52.8%) for 1,170 yards with 3 TD passes and 2 INTs (72.0 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 9 times for 22 yards (2.4 ypc) so far this year.  34-year old A.J. Feeley is going to get all of the reps with the first team this week with the thought that he’s going to be the starting QB for at least a couple of weeks.  Feeley has played in 1 game for the Rams so far this year and he has completed 1 of 5 passes (20%) for 21 yards without a TD pass or interception (44.6 QB Rating).  Feeley is usually much better as a reliever in game, than a starting QB, so the Rams better hope Bradford gets healthy soon.

Austin Pettis will be the new slot receiver for the St. Louis Rams moving forward

25-year old WR Danny Amendola has underwent surgery to repair a triceps injury and he is officially done for the season.  Amendola played in 1 game for the Rams this year and he caught 5 passes for 45 yards (9.0 avg).  He has played in 31 games in his first 3 years with the Rams and he has caught 133 passes for 1,060 yards (8.0 avg) with 4 TD grabs.  Amendola was Sam Bradford’s safety net last year for the Rams.  23-year old rookie WR Austin Pettis is going to get his shot to replace Amendola in the slot.  He has played in 2 games for the Rams so far this year and he has caught 6 passes for 40 yards (6.7 avg).  The Rams really need Pettis to step up and give Bradford a receiver he trusts on the short stuff.

The St. Louis Rams lose CB Bradley Fletcher for the rest of the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports,Needs to Step Up by admin on Thursday 6 October 2011 at 10:32 pm

The Rams have lost 25-year old starting cornerback Bradley Fletcher for the rest of the 2011 season after he tore his right ACL in practice.  Fletcher played in all four games for the Rams so far this year and he had 23 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  Fletcher has now played in 27 games in his first three years with the Rams and he has 121 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, 1 fumble recovery, 4 interceptions and 13 passes defensed.  The Rams will need either 36-year old Al Harris or 30-year old Roderick Hood to step up for the rest of the season.  Harris has played in 4 games for the Rams so far this year and he has 3 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  Roderick Hood was just signed last week by the Rams and he has yet to play in a game this year.  This is terrible news for the Rams as Fletcher was playing pretty decent football this year.

The St. Louis Rams place CB Tim Atchison on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 21 September 2011 at 1:21 pm

The Rams have placed 23-year old rookie CB Tim Atchison on the Injured Reserve List due to a serious hamstring injury.  Atchison made the Rams as a undrafted rookie out of Baylor, so this is a bad break for Atchison.  He played in 1 game for the Rams this year and he didn’t get any tackles.

The St. Louis Rams lose DE C.J. Ah You for a couple of games

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 13 September 2011 at 9:33 pm

The St. Louis Rams will be without 29-year old DE C.J. Ah You against the Giants this Monday Night due to wrist surgery.  He will also like miss at the very least one more week after that.  Ah You played against the Eagles last weekend and he had 1 tackle and 1 tackle for a loss.  Ah You has now played in 25 games in his first three years with the Rams and he has 36 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 tackles for a loss, 3 passes defensed and 1 forced fumble.  The Rams will miss Ah You a little bit, but they should be able to get by without him until he is ready to return to action.

CB Ron Bartell could miss the rest of the season for the St. Louis Rams

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 12 September 2011 at 8:43 pm

29-year old cornerback Ron Bartel could miss the rest of the season due to a serious neck injury.  Bartell played in yesterday’s game for the Rams and he had 1 tackle.  He has now played in 89 games in his first 7 years in the NFL and he has 311 tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 9 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 57 passes defensed and 8 interceptions (1 returned for a TD).  The Rams are going to miss Bartell.

The St. Louis Rams lose WR/PR/KR Danny Amendola likely for the rest of 2011

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 12 September 2011 at 4:02 pm

The Rams have likely lost 25-year old WR Danny Amendola for the rest of the season due to a disl0cated left elbow.  Amendola played in yesterday’s game for the Rams and he caught 5 passes for 45 yards (9.0 avg) and he returned 1 punt for 0 yards.  He has now played in 31 games (9 starts) in his first three years with the Rams and he has caught 133 passes for 1,060 yards (8.0 avg) with 4 TD grabs.  He also has carried the ball 10 times for 79 yards (7.9 ypc).  Sam Bradford is really going to miss Amendola, who is one of the better possession receivers in the NFL.  He has no problem going over the middle of the field and taking a hit to make a tough grab.  The Rams are also going to miss him on special teams.  He has returned 72 punts for 812 yards (11.3 avg) and 116 kickoffs for 2,760 yards (23.8 avg) in his short career for the Rams.  This is a big all around blow to the Rams in 2011.

UPDATE:  (9/12/2011) – Danny Amendola has avoided surgery and the Rams hope to get him back on the field in 4-5 weeks.  This is great news for the Rams and Sam Bradford.
