The Rams have placed 24-year old linebacker Josh Hull on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a high ankle sprain.  Hull played in 11 games for the Rams this year and he had 2 tackles.  He has now played in 12 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has 3 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.  This isn’t much of a loss for the Rams, and that really says something about Josh Hull.

The St. Louis Rams lose FB Brit Miller

The Rams have placed 25-year old fullback Brit Miller on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a knee injury.  Miller played in 12 games for the Rams this year and it was the first time in his career that he actually got to touch the football.  Miller carried the ball 5 times for 14 yards (2.8 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 41 yards (13.7 avg) this year.  Miller also had 7 tackles.  He has now played in 26 games in his NFL career and he has 20 tackles.  The Rams are going to miss Miller’s blocking in the running game and they are also going to miss him on special teams.

Should the St. Louis Rams shut down QB Sam Bradford?

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 13 December 2011 at 11:34 pm

24-year old QB Sam Bradford is supposed to be the Rams’ QB of the future, so should they run him out there injured against the Bengals (home), Steelers (in Pittsburgh) and 49ers (home)?  He looked like a pinata last night behind the Rams’ injury depleted offensive line.  Bradford has played in 10 games for the Rams so far this year and he has completed 191 of 357 passes (53.5%) for 2,164 yards with 6 TD passes and 6 INTs (70.5 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 18 times for 26 yards (1.4 ypc) so far this year.  Bradford has now played in 26 games in his first two years with the Rams and he has completed 545 of 947 passes (57.6%) for 5,676 yards with 24 TD passes and 21 INTs (74.2 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 45 times for 89 yards (2.0 ypc) with 1 TD run in his career so far.  The Rams should seriously consider shutting Bradford down due to his injuries and the state of the offensive line.

The St. Louis Rams are really hurting at QB right now

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 6 December 2011 at 3:34 am

34-year old A.J. Feeley has a small fracture in his right thumb, which could cause him to miss the next Rams’ game (Monday Night in Seattle).  He has played in 5 games for the Rams so far this year and he has completed 53 of 97 passes (54.6%) for 548 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 INTs (66.0 QB Rating).  He has also carried the ball 3 times for 4 yards (1.3 ypc) in this game.  24-year old Sam Bradford has a bad ankle and it’s not looking good as far as him returning to action next week.  He has played in 9 games for the Rams so far this year and he has completed 179 of 328 passes (54.6%) for 1,971 yards with 6 TD passes and 5 INTs (72.3 QB Rating).  Bradford has also carried the ball 16 times for 27 yards (1.7 ypc) so far this year.  It’s looking like 27-year old Tom Brandstater could be making his NFL debut on Monday Night Football next week in Seattle, and it’s a tough place to play.

The St. Louis Rams likely lose Jacob Bell for the rest of the year

The St. Louis Rams have likely lost 30-year old LG Jacob Bell for the rest of the year due to a Grade 2 MCL sprain.  He played in 12 games (all starts) for the Rams this year.  He has now played in 54 games (all starts) in his first four years with the Rams.  32-year old Tony Wragge will likely replace Bell in the starting lineup.  Wragge has played in 11 games (4 starts) for the Rams so far this year.  He has now played in 78 games (19 starts) in his first 8 years in the NFL.  This injury just further depletes the offensive line of the Rams.

The St. Louis Rams place OT Jason Smith on I.R.

The St. Louis Rams have placed 25-year old OT Jason Smith on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a nasty concussion.  Smith played in 6 games (all starts) for the Rams this year.  He has now played in 29 games (26 starts) in his first three years with the Rams. This is another blow to the Rams’ O-Line as they are losing players left and right.

The St. Louis Rams lose WR Mark Clayton for the rest of the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 25 November 2011 at 4:38 am

The Rams have lost 29-year old WR Mark Clayton for the rest of the season due to a knee injury.  Clayton played in 2 games (1 start) for the Rams this year and he caught 3 passes for 26 yards (8.7 avg).  He has now played in 7 games (6 starts) in his first two years with the Rams and he has caught 26 passes for 332 yards (12.8 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Clayton didn’t play much this year but the Rams are going to miss him as they don’t have much depth at WR.

The St. Louis Rams lose CB Marquis Johnson for the rest of the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 23 November 2011 at 9:36 pm

The Rams have lost 23-year old CB Marquis Johnson for the rest of the year as he has been placed on the Injured Reserve List with a lacerated spleen.  Johnson played in 3 games for the Rams this year and he had 5 tackles and 3 passes defensed.  He has now played in 5 games in his first two years with the Rams and he has 7 tackles and 3 passes defensed.  This will hurt the depth of the secondary a little bit.

The St. Louis Rams lose OT Mark LeVoir for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports,Needs to Step Up by admin on Tuesday 22 November 2011 at 2:10 am

The Rams will be without 29-year old OT Mark LeVoir for the next 2-4 weeks due to a strained pectoral muscle.  LeVoir has played in 4 games (1 start) for the Rams this year.  He was replacing starting LT Rodger Saffold who is done for the year due to injury.  23-year old undrafted rookie Kevin Hughes out of Southeastern Louisiana is likely to get his first NFL start this weekend against the Cardinals.  He has only played in 1 game (0 starts) so far this year for the Rams.  The Rams might want to bring in a veteran tackle with some experience so that Sam Bradford doesn’t get killed in the pocket.

The St. Louis Rams lose OT Rodger Saffold on I.R.

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Injury Reports,Needs to Step Up by admin on Saturday 19 November 2011 at 9:47 pm

The Rams have placed 23-year old starting LT Rodger Saffold on the Injured Reserve List ending his season due to a torn pectoral muscle.  He was injured in practice this week.  Saffold played in 9 games (all starts) for the Rams this year.  He has now played in 25 games (all starts) in his first two years in the NFL.  29-year old Mark LeVoir will take over as the starting LT for the Rams going forward.  He has played in 3 games (0 starts) for the Rams so far this year.  LeVoir has now played in 38 games (3 starts) in his first six years in the NFL.  Sam Bradford is likely going to get hit pretty hard in the back a few more times a game without Saffold on the blind side.
