The Rams have signed 23-year old TE Mike McNeill.  McNeill played in 4 games for the Colts this year but he didn’t catch any passes.  The Rams need all the help they can get, so McNeill will likely get a shot to show what he can do the next two weeks.

The St. Louis Rams sign G/C Kevin Mattison

The Rams have signed 27-year old G/C Kevin Mattison off the Ravens’ practice squad.  Mattison played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Ravens this year.  He has now played in 10 games (0 starts) in his first two years in the NFL.  The Rams will likely throw Mattison right into the fire somewhere along the line this weekend against the Cardinals.

The St. Louis Rams sign LB David Nixon

Blogged under Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Wednesday 9 November 2011 at 8:44 pm

The Rams have signed 26-year old LB David Nixon.  Nixon played in 4 games for the Texans and Rams last year in which he had 10 tackles.  Nixon played in 3 games for the Raiders in 2009 as a rookie but he didn’t have any tackles.  The Rams need all the help that they can get at LB, so this is a good signing for them.

The St. Louis Rams sign OT Mark LeVoir

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Thursday 27 October 2011 at 1:56 pm

The Rams have signed 29-year old OT Mark LeVoir.  LeVoir played in 3 games (1 start) with the Ravens earlier this year.  He has now played in 35 games (3 starts) in his first six years in the NFL.  The Rams needed help along the offensive line, so I like this pickup for them.

The St. Louis Rams sign CB Brian Jackson

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Tuesday 11 October 2011 at 7:49 pm

The St. Louis Rams have signed 24-year old cornerback Brian Jackson.  Jackson played in 12 games as a rookie for the Giants last year and he had 9 tackles.  Jackson will likely get a chance to earn some serious P.T. right away for the Rams if they shows them something as they are really hurting at cornerback right now due to injuries.  If nothing else, Jackson will give the Rams depth in the secondary while helping out on special teams.  I like this signing for them.

UPDATE:  (10/30/2011) – The Rams have placed Brian Jackson on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to an undisclosed injury.  Jackson played in 1 game for the Rams this year but he didn’t make any tackles.

The St. Louis Rams sign WR/PR/KR Nick Miller

Blogged under Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Friday 7 October 2011 at 12:11 pm

The Rams have signed 24-year old WR Nick Miller.  Miller played in 2 games earlier this year for the Raiders and he returned 2 punts for 19 yards (9.5 avg) and 4 kickoffs for 61 yards (15.3 avg).  Miller has now played in 11 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has caught 3 passes for 40 yards (13.3 avg).  Miller has also returned 37 punts for 276 yards (7.5 avg) and 6 kickoffs for 98 yards (16.3 avg).  This was a signing to help the special teams and give the Rams a little more depth at WR, so I like the pickup for them.

UPDATE:  (10/22/2011) – The Rams have waived Nick Miller.  He didn’t get into any games for the Rams.

UPDATE II:  (11/24/2011) – The Rams have re-signed Nick Miller.

The St. Louis Rams sign CB Roderick Hood

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Wednesday 28 September 2011 at 7:04 pm

The St. Louis Rams have signed 29-year old cornerback Roderick Hood.  Hood did not play last year in the NFL.  He has now played in 93 games in his first seven years in the NFL and he has 234 tackles, 67 passes defensed, 14 interceptions (3 returned for TDs), 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 5 fumble recoveries and 3 tackles for a loss.  The Rams need all of the help they can get in the secondary which was torched by the Ravens last weekend, so I like this signing for them.

The St. Louis Rams sign TE Stephen Spach

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Monday 5 September 2011 at 9:06 pm

The Rams have signed 29-year old TE Stephen Spach.  Spach played in 15 games for the Cardinals last year and he caught 7 passes for 40 yards (5.7 avg).  He has now played in 44 games in his first 6 years in the NFL and he has caught 20 passes for 135 yards (6.8 avg).  Spach will help the Rams in the running game as he is a pretty good blocker.

The St. Louis Rams sign G/C Tony Wragge

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Monday 5 September 2011 at 3:24 pm

The Rams have signed 32-year old G/C Tony Wragge to a 1-year deal.  Wragge played in 15 games (0 starts) for the 49ers last year.  He has now played in 67 games (15 starts) in his first 7 years in the NFL.  This signing was meant to help the toughness along the offensive line.  His versatility will really help the Rams’ O-Line in 2011.

The St. Louis Rams re-sign WR Mark Clayton

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Thursday 1 September 2011 at 12:03 am

The Rams have re-signed 29-year old WR Mark Clayton to a 1-year deal.  Clayton is still recovering from knee surgery, so he has been placed on the PUP List, which will require him to miss the first 6 games of the 2011 season.  Clayton played in 5 games (all starts) for the Rams last year and he caught 23 passes for 306 yards (13.3 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  He has now played in 81 games (64 starts) in his first 6 years in the NFL and he has caught 257 passes for 3,422 yards (13.3 avg) with 14 TD grabs.  Clayton has also carried the ball 26 times for 118 yards (4.5 ypc) with 2 TD runs so far in his NFL career.  This was a good move for the Rams as Clayton worked really well with QB Sam Bradford last year.
