The St. Louis Rams will probably go with A.J. Feeley at QB early in 2010
The Rams will likely start 33-year old A.J. Feeley the first month of the season before throwing first round pick Sam Bradford to the wolves. Feeley has not played in a regular season game since the 2007 season with the Eagles so he might be rusty. Feeley has played in 23 games in his NFL career and he has completed 372 of 665 passes (55.9%) for 4,070 yards with 27 TD passes and 29 INTs (69.6 QB Rating). He also has carried the ball 34 times for 45 yards (1.3 ypc) with 1 TD carry in his career. Feeley is 7-8 (46.7%) as a starting QB in his NFL career. Feeley has always been a decent backup but he did not fare well as a starter with the Dolphins.
22-year old Sam Bradford will be the face of the Rams’ franchise as soon as opening day if he can beat out A.J. Feeley for the starting job. Despite him injuring his shoulder a couple of times at Oklahoma he comes into his NFL career in perfect health. He is a big guy at 6′4″, 236 pounds and he can make all of the throws. The Rams were smart to resist trading Steven Jackson as he is the perfect safety net for a young QB.
24-year old Keith Null will likely be the #3 QB in 2010 for the Rams as long as he can beat out undrafted rookie Thaddeus Lewis out of Duke. Null played in 4 games for the Rams as a rookie last season and he completed 73 of 119 passes (61.3%) for 566 yards with 3 TD passes and 9 INTs (49.9 QB Rating). He also carried the ball 5 times for 6 yards (1.2 ypc) last season. The Rams were 0-4 (0%) in games that Null started last season.
PROJECTED GRADE FOR THE RAMS QBs in 2010: D
