The St. Louis Rams re-sign James Hall

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter by admin on Tuesday 23 March 2010 at 4:14 pm

The Rams have re-signed 33-year old DE.  Hall played in 14 games for the Rams last season and he made 42 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, he had 4.5 sacks and he defensed 1 pass.  Hall has played in 45 games in his career with the Rams in which he has made 139 tackles, defensed 2 passes and he has 13.5 sacks.  This was a good move for the Rams as Hall still seems like he has a lot left in the gas tank.

The Rams have signed 26-year old cornerback Kevin Dockery to a deal.  Dockery’s size at 5’8″, 188 will likely cause him to be a nickel or dime back who helps out on special teams.  He played in 11 games for the Giants last season and he made made 25 tackles, defensed 1 pass  and he forced 1 fumble.  Dockery has now played in 51 games in his 4 years in the NFL in which he has made 149 tackles, defensed 25 passes, he forced 2 fumbles and he has 3 interceptions (one returned for a TD).  This was a good depth signing for the Rams.

The Rams have signed 27-year old TE Darcy Johnson to a deal.  Johnson played in 13 games for the Giants last season in which he caught 5 passes for 32 yards (6.4 avg).  He has now played in 30 games in his three years in the NFL in which he has caught 9 passes for 78 yards (8.7 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  Johnson was buried on the depth chart for the Giants but he has the potential to be a steal for the Rams.

The Rams have signed 32-year old, 6’3″, 310 pound G/C Hank Fraley to a deal.  He played in 15 games (4 starts) for the Browns last season.  He has now played in 135 games (123 starts) in his NFL career.  Fraley will likely compete with John Greco for the right guard job during training camp and Fraley will be the favorite to win the job.  Fraley is also a accomplished center so his versatility should really help the Rams.

The Rams have re-signed 26-year old TE Daniel Fells to a 1-year, $1.5 million dollar deal.  Fells played in 14 games for the Rams last season in which he caught 21 passes for 273 yards (13.0 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  He has now played in 26 games in his two years with the Rams and he has caught 28 passes for 354 yards (12.6 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  This was a smart move for the Rams as Fells really picked up his game last season.

The St. Louis Rams sign DT Fred Robbins

The Rams have signed 32-year old DT Fred Robbins to a 3-year, $12 million dollar deal.  Robbins played in all 16 games for the Giants last season and he made 25 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, defensed 5 passes and he had 2 sacks.  Robbins has now played in 149 games in his NFL career and he has made 303 tackles, defensed 19 passes, forced 3 fumbles, has 3 interceptions and 28.5 sacks.  With the way the Rams played against the run last season this was a excellent signing for them.  The 6’4″, 317 pound Robbins will likely demand a double team quite often freeing the linebackers to make plays.

The St. Louis Rams sign A.J. Feeley

The Rams have signed 32-year old QB A.J. Feeley to a 2-year deal.  Feeley last played in a regular season game in 2007 with the Eagles.  Feeley has played in 23 games in his NFL career and he has connected on 372 of 665 passes (55.9%) for 4,070 yards with 27 TD passes and 29 INTs (69.6 QB Rating).  Feeley has also carried the ball 34 times for 45 yards (1.3 ypc) with 1 TD run in this career.  It will be interesting to see how Feeley is used by the Rams.  He could start in front of a rookie or he could backup a veteran QB to be signed later.

The St. Louis Rams release DT LaJuan Ramsey

Blogged under Bloglockers,Breaking News,Front Page,General Rams Chatter,Leaving Town by admin on Friday 5 March 2010 at 2:52 pm

The Rams have released 25-year old DT LaJuan Ramsey.  Ramsey played in 15 games for the Rams last season and he made 16 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, he has 1 sack and he forced 1 fumble.  I’m kind of surprised that the Rams got rid of Ramsey because he made some plays for them last season and it’s not like they are loaded along the D-Line.
