2. (33) Donnie Avery, WR
The Rams might have made a mistake here as they drafted a receiver that doesn’t catch the ball that well. But, he has awesome speed as he runs a 4.39 40 and that makes up a little bit for his size as he is only 5’11″, 186 pounds. The Rams felt a need to replace the speed of Isaac Bruce but they may have been better off getting a bigger receiver and many of those were still on the board when the Rams picked in the 2nd round. Avery played in 50 games (44 starts) at Houston and he caught 210 passes for 3,289 yards (15.7 avg) with 19 TD grabs. If Avery gets to return some kickoffs for the Rams this pick might be justified.
