The Rams played a good first half but they were terrible in the second half of the game.  Marc Bulger completed 18 of 35 passes for 208 yards with 3 TD passes and 2 interceptions.  Steven Jackson was outstanding for the Rams in this game as he carried the ball 12 times for 85 yards (7.1 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 21 yards (7.0 avg) with a TD grab.  Isaac Bruce had another solid game for the Rams with 7 catches for 87 yards (12.4 avg) with a TD.  The Rams finished up with 90 yards on 15 carries and they also completed 21 of 42 passes for 226 yards.

Corey Chavous led the way for the Rams Defense with 12 tackles and a sack.  The Steelers finished up with 166 yards rushing on 37 carries (4.5 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 21 passes for 259 yards.

St. Louis Rams vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report, General Rams Chatter by admin on Thursday 20 December 2007 at 11:09 am

The Steelers are fading as they have lost 3 of there last three games and they find themselves tied with the Cleveland Browns at 9-5.  They hold the tiebreaker with the Browns because they defeated them twice.  But, the Steelers are only 2-4 on the road this season and their last two games are on the road.  The Rams have played better lately as they are 3-3 over their last six games after starting the season 0-8.

The Steelers will need to establish the running game if they want to win this football game.  With that in mind look for Willie Parker (1,317 yards rushing) to get a ton of carries against a Rams Defense that is allowing 111.1 yards rushing per game and 4.1 yards per carry.  The Steelers need a running game to slow the Rams pass rush as Roethlisberger has been sacked 43 times already this season.  If Roethlisberger has time to throw the ball the Rams could be in some trouble as they have allowed 218.3 yards passing per game this season.

The Rams will likely copy the Jaguars gameplan that stuck it to the Steelers defense.  That means the Steelers will have to deal with a heavy dose of Steven Jackson in the game tonight.  Don’t think for a minute that the Rams will abandon the passing game as they have too many weapons for the Steelers’ secondary to deal with.  It will be up to Marc Bulger to get rid of the football quick on passing plays as he’s been sacked 44 times this season and the Steelers blitz early and often.

PREDICTION:  STEELERS 27, RAMS 24

Green Bay Packers 33, St. Louis Rams 14

Turnovers hurt the Rams bad in this game as they lost despite having possession of the football for 36:24 of the game.  Marc Bulger had a sub-par game as he completed 20 of 39 passes for 219 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 interceptions.  Steven Jackson had one of his best games of the season against the Packers as he carried the ball 24 times for 143 yards (6.0 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 27 yards (6.8 avg).  Isaac Bruce (4 rec, 71 yards) and Torry Holt (3 rec, 21 yards) led the way for the Rams in the passing game.  The Rams finished up with 173 yards rushing on 31 carries (5.6 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 39 passes for 191 yards.

Oshiomogho Atogwe (4 tackles, 2 sacks) led the way for the Rams Defense in this game.  The Packers finished up with 52 yards rushing on 23 carries (2.3 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 30 passes for 227 yards.

St. Louis Rams vs. Green Bay Packers

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report, General Rams Chatter by admin on Thursday 13 December 2007 at 1:35 am

This game appears to be a gigantic mis-match on paper.  This game pits Brett Favre who is only 183 passing yards behind Dan Marino for the all-time record of 61,361 passing yards.  Favre’s opponent has 153 career passing yards (Brock Berlin).

Brett Favre will likely spread his receivers out early in this football game and try to build a lead throwing the ball.  If the Packers achieve that they will then ride Ryan Grant running the ball to the finish line.  The Rams are allowing 333.3 total yards per game so the Pack should have no problems moving the football and putting points on the scoreboard.

The Rams will try to feed Steven Jackson the football and see if they can control the clock.  But, the Packers will stack the box unless Brock Berlin can hit some passes to loosen up the defense.  Berlin also must be careful with the ball as the Packers have 32 sacks and 15 interceptions so far this season.

PREDICTION:  GREEN BAY PACKERS 31, ST. LOUIS RAMS 13

Cincinnati Bengals 19, St. Louis Rams 10

The Rams couldn’t get anything going in the rainstorm yesterday as they fell to 3-10 on the season.  Brock Berlin didn’t play too well in his NFL debut as he completed 17 of 28 passes for 153 yards with a interception.  Steven Jackson had a solid game as he carried the ball 18 times for 91 yards (5.1 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 26 yards (6.5 avg).  Torry Holt led the way in the receiving game for the Rams with 8 catches for 90 yards (11.3 avg).  The Rams finished up with 88 yards rushing on 24 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 28 passes for 153 yards.

LB Chris Draft (12 tackles) and safety Rich Bartell (8 tackles, interception) led the way for the Rams defense yesterday.  CB Fakhir Brown only had 1 tackle, but, he intercepted a pass and returned it 36 yards for a TD.  The Bengals finished with 192 yards rushing on 36 carries (5.3 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 29 passes for 178 yards.
