The St. Louis Rams get starting guard Richie Incognito back from injury

Richie Incognito is back from injury and he will be starting at right guard this weekend against the Cardinals.  He’s a nasty run blocker and he should also help out the pass blocking which has been horrible this season.  Milford Brown will slide over to right tackle and Claude Terrell will start at left guard.  The situation on the line is now better than it was last week….but it’s still nowhere near being good.

The St. Louis Rams will likely be without Corey Chavous this Sunday against the Cards

The Rams will likely be without starting strong safety Corey Chavous for this Sunday’s matchup with the Cardinals as he has a strained pectoral muscle.  Chavous is the leading tackler on the Rams with 24 and he also has a sack this season.  Todd Johnson will likely start in Chavous’ place and he has 6 tackles this season.

The St. Louis Rams bench Marc Bulger

The St. Louis Rams have decided to bench Marc Bulger and start Gus Frerotte this week against the Cardinals.  This is a smart move because Bulger was taking a beating behind the horrible offensive line.  Bulger will likely get his starting job in a couple of weeks after the Rams give him some time to heal his broken ribs.  Bulger has completed 74 of 133 passes (55.6%) for 765 yards with 2 TD passes and 4 interceptions (64.9 QB Rating) so far this season.  He also has been sacked 11 times already this season.  Frerotte has completed 3 of 6 passes (50%) for 29 yards with 0 TDs and 0 INTs (63.9 QB Rating) so far this season.  He will give the Rams a better chance to win this week because at least he’s healthy.

The St. Louis Rams activate cornerback Fakhir Brown

The Rams have activated cornerback Fakhir Brown.  He was suspended by the NFL for 4 games due to violating the league’s substance abuse policy.  Brown will likely get his starting job back from day #1 and the Rams defense will be much better against the pass because of that.

The St. Louis Rams lose a couple of offensive players to injury

Backup receiver Dane Looker (thigh) will miss at least one week.  Looker is the #5 WR on the Rams as he has caught 3 passes for 19 yards (6.3 avg) so far this season.  They will miss him more for his role as the holder for kicker Jeff Wilkins than they will for his offense.  The Rams have also lost right tackle Adam Goldberg for at least 4 weeks with a torn left MCL.  He won’t need surgery but the Rams will be down to their 4th starting right tackle of the season next week against the Cardinals and it will be Brandon Gorin.  Say a prayer for Marc Bulger this week.
