Rams vs. Packers

These are two teams heading in different directions.  The Rams are playing well for new Coach Scott Linehan, but the Packers have struggled under Mike McCarthy.

Running Back Steven Jackson is a big power back that gives the Rams offense a new dimension.  It the Packers use too many defensive backs on the field, the Rams will have no problem letting Jackson (367 rushing yards) pound them.  The Rams are still a passing team at heart and the Packers have huge problems in their secondary.  The Packers have allowed 292.5 yards passing per game and 7 TD passes.  WRs Torry Holt (26 rec, 332 yards) and Isaac Bruce (20 rec, 320 yards) should have huge games.

Brett Favre has been up and down this season (1,055 yards passing), but he should have a good game passing against a Rams defense that allows 213.5 yards passing per game.  WRs Donald Driver (23 rec, 319 yards) and rookie WR Greg Jennings (15 rec, 259 yards) should have alot of success against the Rams.  Favre must be careful when he throws, because the Rams have already intercepted 8 passes this year.  The Packers really need Ahman Green (215 yards rushing, 138 yards receiving) to play because the Rams are soft as Charmin against the run (120.5 yards rushing, and 4.5 yards per carry).

My gut feeling is that this will be a high-scoring, exciting football game.  I have to side with the Rams because Bulger (0 INT) protects the ball better than Brett Favre.

Leonard Little mades a heads up play when he knocked the ball out of Favre’s hand. Let’s face it….without this turn over the Rams would have lost. Everybody needs a little luck.
