Rams vs. Lions

This is the Mike Martz Bowl.  The Lions will come out with all guns blazing as they try to win a big one for their offensive co-ordinator that thought the Rams gave him a raw deal.

The Lions would be smart to run the football a little bit more this week, because the Rams allow 129.7 yards rushing per game and 4.5 yards per carry.  You just know that Coach Martz won’t have the patience to stick with it.  Jon Kitna has played relatively well passing for 801 yards and an 89.3 QB rating.  Look for the Rams to double cover Roy Williams (16 rec, 245 yards) and make someone else beat them.

The Rams will probably try to run the ball half the time with Steven Jackson (286 yards rushing).  After watching film of the Lions defense, Marc Bulger has to be excited about the game.  Lions opponents have completed 75.5% of their passes, with 7 TDs and 0 INT!  Bulger has thrown for 711 yards this season.  Look for Torry Holt (20 rec, 230 yards) and Isaac Bruce (13 rec, 220 yards) to run wild in the Lions secondary.

The Lions just don’t look like they matchup well with the Rams.

Hi Rams fans!!  I have been a long time fan.  I suffered through the tough 90s and have certainly enjoyed the new millenium.  I am finally going to my first game, but it’s at Lambeau against the Packers.  Just happens to be a Canadian Thanksgiving and the closest field to my Northern Ontario home.  Are any rams fans out there attending that game and need a couple of excited Canucks dressed in blue and gold to drink beer with before the game?

Rams win tough game on the road 16-14

The Rams cranked up their passing game and played opportunistic defense to beat the Cardinals. Marc Bulger completed 21 of 31 passes for 309 yards and a TD. Steven Jackson had a rough time running the ball as he had 24 carries for 62 yards and caught 3 passes for 59 yards. WR Torry Holt had a huge game catching 8 passes for 120 yards and a TD. Isaac Bruce caught 3 passes for 79 yards.

The defense gave up quite a few yards, but they picked off 3 Kurt Warner passes. The Cards ran the ball 28 times for 101 yards (3.6 ypc). The Rams allowed the Cards to complete 67.9% of their passes for 246 net yards thru the air.

This was a nice win for the Rams and puts them back into contention.

Rams vs. Cardinals

This is a huge game in the NFC West, and is a must-win game for both teams.

Coach Linehan has made the Rams a more balanced football team on offense but they’ve only scored 31 points in their first two games.  They will have to score at least that many to win this game.  The Rams need to protect QB Marc Bulger better, as they’ve allowed 9 sacks this season.  RB Steven Jackson should be able to find running room against the Cards defense that is allowing 126.5 yards per game and 4.7 yards per carry.  Look for the Rams to throw alot more in this game to try to keep up with the Cardinals offense.  WR Torry Holt (12 rec, 110 yards) should have a huge game this week.

The Cards would like to get Edgerrin James and the running game going this week. The Rams’ defense is allowing 144 yards per game on the ground and 5 yards per carry.  QB Kurt Warner is off to a good start this season and will attack the much-improved Rams defense down the field.  WRs Larry Fitzgerald (13 rec, 185 yards) and Anquan Boldin (10 rec, 124 yards) should have good games.

I like the Cards to win this one on their home field.
